Covid “Lockdown”

2019

I happened across this mirror about a year before the Pandemic. Stickers are a pain to get off so I just left it sitting. When COVID-19 hit and we were stuck inside it gave me an opportunity to figure out what I wanted to do with. I happened across a City Pulse front cover that had a drawing of a person with a mask on. Inspiration hit. I made a post to a few facebook pages asking people to use one word to describe how they were feeling during the lockdown. This piece is still in progress, but some of the words were what others would consider “positive”, which were placed on the mask. The incomplete part of this is the words people would consider the “negative”. The main word being Anxiety. Lockdown ended, and this piece was put aside until a later date. Made with wood, mirror, paint, tape, a lockdown and a poll of the audience.
